Liuheng
The work explores themes of belonging and resistance by documenting the elders who chose to stay on the island of Liuheng while the younger generations moved to the city to pursue a better life. The resulting sculpture photo book transforms images into an interactive memory box, blending personal and collective narratives by capturing their portraits, living environments, daily lives, social cycles, and brief interviews. This work discusses displacement and the preservation of cultural identity amidst modernization.
